FAQ

Questions about the website chat

How much does it cost?

The chat is included in Ordyum. Answers use your own OpenAI key, so OpenAI bills you directly; with a small model a typical conversation costs a fraction of a cent. You set a daily limit.

Does it work without an OpenAI key?

Yes, as a classic live chat: visitors write, your team replies from the inbox and the visitor sees the answer in the same window.

Can it make things up?

It is instructed to answer only with your knowledge base and to say when it does not know. For prices or bookings it can always hand off to your team.

Can I use it on Shopify?

Yes. Paste the line in your theme’s theme.liquid before </body> and it shows on every page, including product and cart. Wix, Webflow, Squarespace and Google Tag Manager work the same way.

Will it slow down my website?

No. It is a single small script loaded asynchronously, isolated from your styles, and it only talks to Ordyum when the visitor opens it or writes.

Can I limit it to my own domains?

Yes. Add your domains under allowed websites and the chat will only load there. Each visitor also has a message limit to prevent abuse.
